Native doctor gives 2 men acid to drink after receiving N22 million

                
A native doctor in Lagos has been arrested and chargedafter reports that he defrauded 2 men in the Lekki area ofthe state.45-year-old Jamiu Alao is said to havefraudulentlyobtained N22.1 million from the men after he promisedthem spiritual protection but gave them acid to drink inthe guise of a potent potion.
Alao, a resident of Ijebu-Ode in Ogun is also facingcharges of conspiracy and obtaining money under falsepretences.Punch reports:The prosecutor, Cpl. Innocent Odugbo, told the courtthat Alao committed the offences with others still atlarge sometime in April at Mayfair Estate, Ajah inLekki.He said the native doctor collected N3million fromone Mr. Raimi Oluwaseyi under the guise of givinghim spiritual protection.
The prosecutor said the accused had on April 8 atIjabi Quarters, Ijebu-Ode, also collected 116,000dollars (N19.1million) from Oluwaseyi and one KingDavid Orji on the pretext of protecting themspiritually.“The native doctor gave the complainants a substanceto drink for spiritual protection and directed that itshould be consumed at a residence in Lagos.“Orji and Oluwaseyi drank the substance whichturned out to be an acid,’’ Odugbo said.According to Odugbo, the complainants had to travelabroad to seek urgent medical attention for internalinjuries they received. Olanipekun, granted the native doctor bail in the sumof N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum.The case was adjourned to June 30 for mention.
