Desserts: How To Make Coffee Cake




Ingredients

1 cup of flour

1 teaspoon of coffee

1/2 cup melted butter


1/2 cup sugar

1 egg

1.5 teaspoon vanilla

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup of milk

Method

Cream your butter and sugar by whisking vigorously, incorporating air as you go.

Slowly whisk in your egg and incorporate into the creamed butter.

Pour in the vanilla and milk and mix for about 2 minutes.

In a separate bowl, mix all your dry ingredients including the coffee and slowly pour in your wet ingredients into the bowl of the dry ingredients whilst mixing.

Pre-heat your oven to 350F or medium-high depending on your oven.

Grease your pan for baking and pour in your mixture into the pan. (If you plan on adding extra things to the recipe, like nuts or fruits, this would be the time to add them)

Bake for 30-45 minutes. To check if the cake is ready, stick a toothpick in the middle and if it comes out dry, its ready.

Leave to cool and garnish with your frosting and sprinkles.
